Question 4 - DIGC Assignment

QUESTION 4

  •       Bullying – It can be said that one of the courses to teenage suicide is due to bulling. Threatening, teasing and calling people names on social media can be seen as bullying. As worst of, it sometimes can lead to suicide as the ‘bullied’ is embarrassed and ashamed from all of the people that can see what is being done to them.

  •       Sexual harassment – Everyday someone makes a new friend on the social media platform and some people get to comfortable with the other as they tend to think being friendly and polite means something else and decides to take advantage as it seems like an opportunity to get friendlier. This is totally wrong!!! This puts the victim’s live and reputation at stake.

  •       Inappropriate communication – There are some people on the social media platform that have no manners. They post stuff that can be irrelevant or rude to another person (for example, criticizing on religion/race), their language such as grammar, spelling and the use of vulgar language is pathetic as it shows no sign of respect towards others reading.

  •       Inappropriate humor – Sometimes humor can be offensive, if it’s appropriate or not, funny or not, someone can find it offensive/rude. Humor such as sexist jokes can lead to sensitivity especially if it’s personal and occurs in places such as the workplace and schools. Such places have a code of conduct that must be adhered too and have a setting of a diverse culture.
