5.1)

Digital rights and responsibilities are the freedom and requirements that is extended to everyone in the digital world. (IIE Digital Citizenship Student Manual, 2016)

Petition:
North Korea, Vietnam, China and Cuba citizens have no digital rights and therefore needs a digital bill of rights drawn up to ensure that citizen’s rights of these countries are not and will not be violated. By having a digital bill of rights for such countries will ensure that those using the internet will be safe with privacy, therefore encouraging more people and usage of the internet. By this, citizen’s will not only have access to technology but also getting help and getting used to the various online platforms. Everyone in the world have the right to access and use technology and to utilise digital rights and responsibilities that citizens should be aware off.

Benefits of being a digital native:
  •      More multimedia orientated.
  •      Developed a common language (usage of short words/slang).
  •      Online friends.
  •      Actively involved.
  •      Strive to be independent.

Digital bill of rights for the internet:

- The right to anyone and everyone to access the internet equally.
- The right to share opinions and views online.
- To be accountable for anything that you as a citizen create on the internet.
- The right to have uncensored internet.
- The right openness of any citizen that uses the internet.
- All citizens shall not be limited to the content of data.
- All citizens shall not be limited to any protocols within the internet.
- The right to privacy.
- The right to data security.
- The restriction of access to the internet for any kind reason shall be terminated.

QUESTION 4

  •       Bullying – It can be said that one of the courses to teenage suicide is due to bulling. Threatening, teasing and calling people names on social media can be seen as bullying. As worst of, it sometimes can lead to suicide as the ‘bullied’ is embarrassed and ashamed from all of the people that can see what is being done to them.

  •       Sexual harassment – Everyday someone makes a new friend on the social media platform and some people get to comfortable with the other as they tend to think being friendly and polite means something else and decides to take advantage as it seems like an opportunity to get friendlier. This is totally wrong!!! This puts the victim’s live and reputation at stake.

  •       Inappropriate communication – There are some people on the social media platform that have no manners. They post stuff that can be irrelevant or rude to another person (for example, criticizing on religion/race), their language such as grammar, spelling and the use of vulgar language is pathetic as it shows no sign of respect towards others reading.

  •       Inappropriate humor – Sometimes humor can be offensive, if it’s appropriate or not, funny or not, someone can find it offensive/rude. Humor such as sexist jokes can lead to sensitivity especially if it’s personal and occurs in places such as the workplace and schools. Such places have a code of conduct that must be adhered too and have a setting of a diverse culture.

The Internet of Things

The internet of things is electronic devices that have a network connectivity.
The concept of the internet of things is said to be of any device that can connect to the internet and have an on/off switch. This can be found to have advantages and disadvantages towards businesses and society itself.

Advantages:
  •       Makes life easier towards connecting with others.
  •       Example, quicker in notifying members in the workplace that you are going to arrive late for a meeting.
  •       Easier in sharing information with anyone and everyone.

Disadvantages:
  •       The main issue is when the server goes down, hence everyone will suffer.

    3.2) 

"Creative Fluency the power of creativity adds meaning to virtually every product and organization in existence using innovative design, visual appeal, and storytelling. The arts are no longer ornamental—they’re fundamental.” (Foundation, n.d.)
  •  Linguistic – Businesses uses this sensitivity to written and spoken language to accomplish goals and objectives. Though, today it has impacted on technology via the internet and software applications that makes life easier.
  •   Musical – Businesses are impacting on musical culture to provide a happy environment and technology is impacting as different people have different tastes in musicals and rhythms.
  •   Visual – The impact of technology on visuals gets interesting every time, where you can download software’s to produce pictures that moves for a certain amount of time. Visuals are eye catchers and businesses loves using it to attract people’s attention.
  •   Logical – Businesses apply logic to any situation to achieve a reasonable outcome. The approach of technology impacts the logical intelligence to make life simpler with modern gadgets and software applications such as the Pascal Accounting Software.

Rape - The cold hard facts

·         Define – Means identifying the specific problem.
South Africa has been noted of being the rape capital of the world with an estimated rape rate of 14,5%.

·         Discover – This is the step where we decide on how we got to the problem.
Reasons can be is that Government/police force lack in tackling sexual offenders thus most of these offenders get away and even if caught, their jail sentence isn’t severe enough.

·         Dream – This is imagining the possible solution and outcome of the problem.
The dream is to have the offenders prosecuted and the victims at peace and having no such thing happen to another.

·         Design – Is the plans to make reality of the solution.
This can be the implementation of therapies for victims and having the police force investigate such cases in more depth and tackling the offenders.

·         Deliver – This the step where the action is put into a plan and it includes the produce and publish components.

§  Produce: This can be from signing petitions to creating awareness campaigns.
§  Publish: This can be articles in the newspaper of concern of such issues.

·         Debrief – This is the evaluation step of all steps taken.
